Masters of the Pizzaverse

Bryan said it: we are masters of the pizzaverse! (Use your best announcer voice when you say that in your head.) Dinner this evening was pizza with olive oil, parmesan, swiss chard, fresh tomatoes, onion, and some cheddar to top the whole thing off. Oh boy, do I love dinner! Yes, it's this good practically every night.

In other news, we have canned the hot peppers. There are 12 half-cup jars of pickled peppers. Mom, if you're reading this, they are packed in cider and white vinegar, and I processed them for 10 minutes in boiling water. I heard all the jars make the sound, but I'd like some reassurance that I'm not going to give
anyone botulism. The USDA canning guide is just not as convincing as you are!

It is almost time for the squash to begin arriving from the CSA...but there's still squash in the freezer from last winter, so on Sunday, I made pumpkin bars (Dad's sister Ruth's recipe) with some defrosted winter squash. I took many of them to our CSA potluck. We are doing our best not to eat the remaining ones all at once. They are delicious.

Yes, our lives revolve around food. Are you hungry yet? When are you coming to visit?

This blog is a brilliant idea - thanks, Darleen!
